It’s safe to say that the Nord range of affordable phones is selling well, so much so that 80% of the Nord CE 5G sales were brand new OnePlus customers. As such, as any smartphone brand would do, OnePlus will introduce a successor called the Nord CE 2 5G on February 17th with deal-breaking features such as a 3.5mm audio jack and MicroSD card support.
On top of the presence of the audio jack and MicroSD card support, OnePlus has confirmed that it will feature 65W SuperVOOC wired charging which should bring the ability to top-up the battery from 0-100% in 30 minutes or so.
OnePlus says that the launch event will kick off at 2:30 PM CET, which equates to 1:30 PM BST and 8:30 AM ET, sot there isn’t too long to wait to find out if the rumor that the Nord CE 2 5G has indeed switched from a Qualcomm chipset to MediaTek’s Dimensity 900. Hopefully, the Nord CE 2 5G will launch at a similar price point to its predecessor whose 8/128GB base model came in at an affordable £299.
