Fans of fall, mark your calendars: The predicted harvest dates for Michigan-grown apples have been announced for 2022.
Kicking off the season, Paula Red — Michigan’s earliest apple variety — should be available as early as August 23.
The season will then progress through September and October with a parade of new and old favorites, from lunchbox types like Honeycrisp and McIntosh, to baking standbys like Ida Red.

This year promises to be a good one for apples: Growers are optimistic that they will havest an above-average sized crop with great quality and flavor, said Diane Smith, Michigan Apple Committee executive director.
