Petlux V3 Introduces Odor-Free And App-Controlled Cat Care

When you get an indoor pet, your new job description becomes janitorial. You’re on poop patrol, fur control, and odor watch throughout the day. But we are finally entering a time where home cleaning products are becoming more popular.

The term “next-gen” may have been overspent on many devices this year that aren’t worth the hype. But it’s not every day you see a litter box that cleans itself, tracks your cat’s bathroom habits, and lets you control it from an app.

Step into a poop-free dimension

Petlux recently announced the launch of their smart V3 litter box that’s built for large cat breeds and multi-cat households. Unlike most automatic boxes that still require some babysitting, it’s designed to eliminate leaks and maintenance a totally hands-free experience.

The device has a cylindrical shape with a matte exterior in black or white, depending on your preference. It resembles a miniature portal, and it is one, if you think about it. Your cat has to sit in the circular opening at the front, do its business, and step out into a poop-free world again.

The inner space has a 48cm diameter, about 19 inches wide. It also sits low to the ground, and is supported by a stable base that’s designed to blend into your home decor effortlessly.

If you worry that your house is cramped or your cat’s poop is too persistent for any device to do a miracle, the V3 solves these regular complaints with a 100-litre capacity, waterproof design, and biodegradable waste management options that wipe out pretty much everything. Since it’s not a vacuum that moves and mops around your house constantly, you’re fine.

Particularly, odor is non-negotiable when raising indoor pets when you live with other people. The V3 is equipped with an advanced air filtration system that uses resin granules to absorb and neutralize it before it has a chance to escape into the air.

You can connect the machine to a dedicated app and monitor waste levels or your cat’s bathroom habits quietly around 30 db operation. For context, the sound is as loud as a whisper, and less than your refrigerator humming. So, it’s not likely to make your cats nervous. The app also supports activating cleaning cycles.

Get the Petlux V3 before it hits $699

If you’ve never used a self-cleaning litter box before, or you’re usually buying whatever litter type’s on sale at the pet store, you still need to pour in the litter yourself just like with a regular box. You also want to check what type your machine supports so that it works properly.

In the Petlux V3’s case, it uses a clumping system that filters out most solids formed with water, drops them into a sealed bin, and retains the clean litter.  You don’t have to scoop anything afterward. Just don’t use non-clumping litter, gel beads, or wood pellets. Otherwise, the machine can’t separate the clean parts from the dirty.

Unsurprisingly, the machine is a little over the mid-range mark in price. The retail cost hits $699. Given all the smart features, it’s clearly targeting serious cat owners who are ready to invest in a low-maintenance setup. If you support the product early during its current crowdfunding campaign, you can buy it at a lower price of $399. You should take advantage of the offer now if you’re considering an upgrade from traditional litter boxes.
