Leaked renders of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold have surfaced, courtesy of well-known leaker @onleaks on X and Android Headlines. These renders provide a possible first look at Google’s next foldable phone, though neither the name nor the images are official. The renders originate from Computer-Aided Design (CAD) files, and the biggest takeaway is that Google has pulled a Samsung.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold looks nearly identical to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold with no striking visible changes. That’s pretty much it. For the next few days until the Pixel 9a goes on sale, you’ll probably be getting an eyeful of it until more concrete information surfaces.
It’s almost like someone didn’t have the time to create a new render and just reused the Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s design. Either they are based on incomplete data or that Google is focusing on internal hardware upgrades rather than altering the exterior. Hopefully, it’s the second suggestion.
Don’t get your hopes up for Pixel 10 Pro Fold
The Pixel 9 series brought one of the most polished designs we’ve seen in years. The newly rounded camera bar was among many things to refresh the Pixel lineup’s identity. When Google removed it on the Pixel 9a, it only confirmed that it should never be touched again.
Not everyone expects the brand to change designs every year after such a major overhaul. The leaked renders of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, codenamed Rango, looks the same as its predecessor, just as the other phones in the Pixel 10 series haven’t changed. That’s not a problem if there is more going on internally.
But that doesn’t mean users do not want refinements. The crease on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold was still noticeable compared to what OnePlus and Samsung have achieved on the OnePlus Open and Galaxy Z Fold 6 series phones. Let’s not forget those distracting bezels too.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold also happens to be one of the heaviest smartphones on the market, so some weight reduction on the newer phone would be nice. It weighs 257 grams, measures 5.1mm thick when unfolded, and becomes noticeably thicker at 10.5mm when folded. However, Android Headlines did share that Pixel 10 Pro Fold will have slightly thicker dimensions of about 155.2 x 150.4 x 5.3mm when open.

Tensor G5 may bring improved performance for 10 Pro Fold series
It seems the biggest shift Google is going to make on the upcoming flagship is the Tensor G5 chip. It’s the first processor that the company is reportedly building entirely in-house in partnership with TSMC, and that’s a huge deal. Every previous Tensor was co-developed with Samsung since the Pixel 6 series. But Samsung’s 4nm and 5nm processes have historically had high defect rates, bad thermal management, and excessive battery drain.
TSMC, on the other hand, is the same company that makes Apple’s chips and Qualcomm’s best processors. They need no more introduction than that. They’re basically the guys you go to when you want top-tier silicon. That means Tensor might finally stop feeling like a step behind the competition, even though that means there will be price surges for Pixel phones ahead.
Surprisingly, runner has it that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold won’t be as expensive as we think. Expect the phone to launch in August 2025, right alongside the rest of the Pixel 10 series at Google’s annual Made by Google event.
