The Poco F6 series and Pad are out now

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States has certified the Poco F6 series and Poco Pad. The devices are now available for purchase.

The Poco F6

The Poco F6 features a Lithium Polymer battery with 5000mAh capacity. It uses the latest Power Delivery 3.0 technology that enables it to endure high wattage for fast charging. It also supports the same Quick Charge 3.0+ technology Qualcomm developed for the iPhone X and the iPhone 8 series. With it, the phone is expected to reach 80% in just 35 minutes.

Powering the phone is also Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, which is a slight downgrade from the 8 Gen 3 version, yet outshines the 8 Gen 2 chip on the Poco F6. It uses the Kryo CPU architecture, and can process 64 bits of data at a time. The clock speed peaks at 3Ghz.

It features a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 2400 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass Victus. The camera setup includes a 50MP main rear camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 20MP front camera. Connectivity options include dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4. The phone also comes with a base memory of 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. There’s IP64 splash-proof protection that’s missing on the Pro model. But the in-screen fingerprint sensor, AI Face Unlock, dual speakers, IR blaster, and NFC features are available on both phones.

Poco F6 Pro

The supposedly better F6 Pro phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, as leaked earlier. It uses the 4nm process technology and a maximum CPU clock speed of 3.2GHz. It offers 35% improvement over its predecessors GPU performance, and 25% upgrade in artificial intelligence (AI). Also, it has the same battery capacity as the F6 phone, but with support for 120W fast charging that allows it to reach 100% in 18 minutes.

The display is a beauty to look at. It’s 6.6-inches with WQHD+ resolution (3200 x 1440 pixels) . The refresh rate is 120Hz with a 2160Hz instant touch sampling rate that causes it to respond quickly to your touch. The brightness peaks at 4000 nits, making it viewable even in bright and direct sunlight.

In terms of memory, the model starts with 12GB RAM and 256GB. There’s a 50MP main rear camera with OIS, and an 8MP ultra-wide with 2MP macro cameras to complement it. At 16MP, the front camera delivers good quality. Other specifications include dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC.

Poco Pad

Xiaomi’s Poco Pad towers at 12.1-inch with a 2.5k LCD display and high 120Hz refresh rate. It’s quite heavy at 571g and measuring over 28cm diagonally. The display offers smooth visuals and supports. It offers Dolby Vision, as well as low blue light, flicker-free viewing for users who can’t tear their eyes away from the impressive screen. It uses the midrange Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and provides 8GB of RAM plus 256GB storage at a start. The giant 10,000mAh battery is excellent for extended on-the-go use, but its 33W charging support puts it below the fastest charging phones.

Both front and rear cameras are only 8MP, which is lower resolution than many phones, and may not suit low-light photography or zoom. But it does have great sound, thanks to the Quad speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support.

All three devices will run Xiaomi HyperOS, which is based on Android 14. They can be bought on FlipKart, with wider availability expected in the coming days.
