In a news release sent Sunday morning, the Augusta Police Department said authorities received a call at 4:45 p.m. Saturday about an unidentified man demanding an undisclosed amount of money. Police didn’t say whether the suspect got away with any money.

The suspect fled the scene before the police department showed up and has not yet been identified, according to Deputy Chief Kevin Lully.

The suspect was described as white man, at a height of between 5-feet-3 and 5-feet-9, and weighing between 160 to 200 pounds. He wore a black sweatshirt, black boots, a camouflage printed hat, a black backpack and light-colored pants, police said.

The Augusta Police Department asked that anyone with information about the robbery to call 207-626-2370 ex. 3418.
