Prince Philip of Serbia joins bitcoin startup

Prince Philip Karadordevic of Serbia and Yugoslavia will join JAN3, a bitcoin startup, as chief strategy officer. In the role, Prince Philip will promote bitcoin adoption for nations and individuals, according to a press release.

Prince Philip has worked in the financial sector in London and resides in Belgrade, Serbia, where he runs a foundation to help improve the lives of Serbians domestically and abroad.

“Transgressions of human rights and liberties marked the communist era in SFR Yugoslavia. In the 1990s, it suffered the third worst-ever hyperinflation in history and its consequent hardships. We need hard money immune to inflation, and Bitcoin is the solution as digital gold for the 21st century. It is paramount to think about individuals and their property rights and liberties; otherwise, we risk losing everything and re-entering the dark ages,” Prince Philip said in the release. “I’m enthusiastic about joining JAN3 and its mission of accelerating hyperbitcoinization. Bitcoin is freedom, something I want for Serbia and the world.”
