What Users Love About the App

“Homer gave my now 6 year old the confidence to learn how to read. There are plenty of stories to read along with as well as STEAM categories. We’ve loved Homer since we got it over a year ago.”

What Users Dislike About the App

“When you are doing a section if you accidently press the back button, it completely knocks your progress for that section off. My child has ADHD and fidgets A LOT! It is so frustrating for him to knock this and then lose his progress. Surely there is some way to fix this.”

“Not what I expected. I just downloaded the app yesterday and it keeps crashing. It takes a long time to load and I have to get out of app and get back in for it to work. Also, it does not work offline, which I though it did because I saw somewhere online that supposedly it did. The price differs too, since I saw it was $45 a year rather than $60. I would be canceling before my trial expires.”

“I got a new card shortly after my initial cancellation request and even got an email telling me to update my card info. To which I told her I cancelled and that I would not update my info. And what do I see 12 days later? A charge on my account. I didn’t give them my new information, so that charge is a little suspicious to me.”

“I keep trying to cancel my account and it won’t let me log onto the website. I have continually tried to get on the site it still will not let me. I have tried to get in touch with customer service to no avail. Do not sign up with this company!! It’s more trouble than it is worth!!”

“There is a complete lack of diversity. There’s plenty of “majority” representation, but very little for any marginalized groups. There are significantly more talking animals than people of color and the general “holiday” section is almost completely US based or Christian holidays.”
