Apple has introduced a new integration that lets professional DJ hardware and software leverage Apple Music‘s whole catalog across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro.
Apple most recently expanded its range of stations, but for now for subscribers who want to mix their own music, there is “DJ with Apple Music.”
“Apple Music is committed to supporting DJs,” said Stephen Campbell, global head of dance, electronic & DJ mixes at Apple Music in a statement to the music press. “With this latest integration, we’re taking that commitment even further — seamlessly connecting Apple Music with the industry’s leading DJ software and hardware.”
“This innovation brings the full power of Apple Music into the creative workflow,” he continued, “making it easier than ever for DJs to access, play, and discover music in real time.”
The new feature is an extension of how Alogoriddim’s Djay Pro app has long been on iOS — and more recently, has also been launched for the Apple Vision Pro. DJ with Apple Music now integrates with software and hardware including systems from:
- AlphaTheta
- Serato
- InMusic’s Engine DJ
- Denon DJ
- Numark
- Rane DJ
Even without any of these systems, Apple Music subscribers can still listen to a curated list of tracks in various playlists. The playlists include titles such as “AlphaTheta Electronic,” and “Serato Latin Heat.”
“The integration of Djay with Apple Music across mobile, desktop, and spatial devices opens up a world of creative possibilities for both beginners and seasoned pros,” said Algoriddim CEO, Karim Morsy. “With instant access to Apple Music’s catalogue of over 100 million songs, DJs can mix anytime, anywhere — transforming the way they discover and play their favorite music.”
“Whether using Automix for a seamless, hands-free experience or crafting their own unique sets with djay’s powerful mixing tools,” continued Morsy, “this integration marks a major milestone in making DJing more accessible than ever.”
The new feature is not Apple’s first move into DJing. In 2022, it launched a Spatial Audio feature called DJ Mixes, and relaunched Apple Music’s “One Mix” show with DJ Jeff Mills.
Then one of the three stations launched in December 2024 was the Apple Music Club. A dance and electronic music station, it features curated DJ mixes.
Apple Music is a subscription service that offers listeners over 100 million tracks, and is replete with features for discovering new music. It starts at $10.99 per month for individual users, and $16.99 per month for families.
The price hasn’t increased since 2022, and at the same time Apple Music has continued to be the streaming service that pays musicians the most.
