Rangers jump on cryptocurrency bandwagon as Bitci Fan Token launched

Rangers fans are being invited onto the cryptocurrency bandwagon as the club announces the launch of a Rangers Fan Token with Turkish-based associate partner Bitci.

Offering fans the chance to secure win “money can’t buy gifts and experiences” Rangers are set to launch the new Fan Token on July the 5th, with a slice of the proceeds being fed into the club.

Supporters will be invited to trade the tokens on Bitci’s cryptocurrency market where they can buy and sell them as they fluctuate to market demand.

A total of 20 million tokens will be released over a three-week period and similar projects have been launched with the Brazilian and Uruguayan national teams, McLaren F1, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Real Betis.

“We are delighted to announce Rangers supporters globally and the wider cryptocurrency investment community now have a unique opportunity to own Rangers Fan Tokens,” said Rangers Director of Commercial and Marketing James Bisgrove [Rangers].

“Alongside our illustrious 150 years of unrivalled history and great traditions, Rangers has always been an innovative and pioneering institution seeking to push boundaries and, in the modern era, embracing digital transformation.

Most Rangers fans might not have the financial backing of Elon, but on a much smaller scale, Bitci offers the chance for some Bears to make a bit of money and support the club in the process.

The Bitci partnership certainly came as a surprise to most but one leading club insider revealed that the deal was worth an impressive £1.5m to Rangers in an indictment of the club’s much-improved commercial operations.
