Razer’s peripherals are pretty cool, but with the fact that they’re made for PC gaming and Windows remains the top platform for PC gaming, other operating systems have been neglected. At long last, Razer’s Synapse software is finally becoming available on macOS, so you can manage them all.
Razer’s Synapse software, which was previously only available on Windows, has finally landed on macOS. In case you’re not familiar with what Synapse is, it’s a comprehensive software tool designed to let you properly manage all of your Razer peripherals. It allows you to customize and optimize your Razer devices, such as mice, keyboards, and headsets, by offering a suite of configuration options. You can rebind buttons, assign macros, and personalize Chroma RGB lighting effects across multiple devices. This last part is pretty good if you happen to use your peripherals on both your main Windows PC and your secondary MacBook.
The app itself has cloud storage that automatically saves personalized settings and profiles, allowing you to access your configurations on any computer. Presumably, this extends to not only multiple Windows PCs like it used to be the case, but also now Mac computers.. Synapse also serves firmware updates for your peripherals and can integrate with other applications and games for a more immersive experience.
macOS is still not really a “gamer-y” operating system, and it still needs to go a long way before it is. Apple would probably need to step up with things such as actual gaming-grade GPUs. Not a lot of people are probably using their Razer peripherals to play games on their Mac, but if you happen to own a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse, you might still want to use them in your Mac sometimes if given the option. You could already use Razer peripherals on macOS, as there was nothing stopping you from doing that, just like there’s nothing stopping you from using any Bluetooth keyboard or mouse on your Mac.

Razer Joins the Vertical Mouse Party With New Pro Click V2
Razer has released its first vertical mouse: the Pro Click V2 Vertical Edition. This new model joins the standard Pro Click V2. While the standard Pro Click V2 has a more traditional ergonomic shape, the Vertical Edition takes a more radical approach, aiming to compete directly with well-known brands like Logitech in the vertical mouse space.
But now they can be properly configured through Razer’s first-party software client, and your mouse will remember the settings you set on your Windows PC. The macros probably won’t be good for a lot of stuff, but you can still do other things, such as customizing lighting effects. The possibilities are endless.
The macOS version of the app is now available in a “preview” stage. It’s not clear when it will become generally available for everyone, but you can check out more info on Razer’s website.
