For skiers worldwide, the Slopes app provides a way for you to access interactive maps of most major ski resorts in the world, helping you navigate and find trail and resort info pretty easily. However, it can do more than just that. You can use it to locate where your friends might be on the mountain, and you can also use it to record the runs you make.
Slopes already had a lot of digital ski maps to use on your vacations, but now, the app has expanded its portfolio to nearly 2,200 ski resorts across the globe. Slopes put 662 of these together, while 1,523 of them are sourced from the OpenStreetMap platform. The app now includes support for ropes, gates, slow zones, restricted areas, and more.

If you’re an Android user looking forward to using the Slopes app, you’ll be glad to know that it comes with some additional perks beyond expanding the resort coverage.
Android users will be able to switch between 2D and 3D layouts of maps. For something like a ski mountain where there’s a lot of undulating topography, the 3D view of a ski slope or resort can be incredibly useful. The app is now also able to show you facilities such as restrooms, restaurants, and ski patrol locations, though only for North American resorts for now.
You’ll also be able to search for trails and lifts just by searching their names, complete with a summary of the trail’s difficulty, its elevation, lift ride duration, and a lot more.

Of course, you should know that with all that the Slopes app offers, it isn’t surprising that the app has a Premium tier. That’ll cost you $29.99 each year, and considering how expensive a hobby skiing is, I’d hardly think that’s something to complain about. The Premium tier gives you interactive trail maps, which can make a major difference in navigation. However, you can enjoy the app just as much on the free tier.
