Realme announces its new GT Master Edition series of smartphones and its first-ever Windows laptop

    Realme

Realme is a brand that is taking Europe by storm with its range of affordable smartphones, smartwatches, and earbuds, having achieved 100 million sales in just 37 months. The Realme GT recently launched running the Snapdragon 888 processor for just €449, and today sees the unveiling of the unique looking Realme GT Master Edition and the company’s first foray into the Windows laptop segment, the Realme Book.

    Realme GT Master Edition

Powered by the Snapdragon 778G processor, the Realme GT Master Edition packs a punch with the 6/128GB variant going on sale for $399 and the 8/256GB model for $449. A 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display sourced from Samsung is present with FHD+ resolution, 360Hz touch sampling, and 120Hz refresh rate takes care of the visuals. A 4,300mAh battery is recharged by Realme’s 65W SuperDart charging technology which means you can go from 0-100% in around half an hour.

A 64MP main camera with EIS is supplemented by an 8MP ultra-wide lens with 119° FoV, as well as a 2MP dedicated macro lens. The 32MP selfie camera sits on the top-left corner of the display.

The rather obvious talking point of the Realme GT Master Edition is its unique style which was developed by renowned designer, Naoto Fukasawa. Looking something like a suitcase’s undulating grille thanks to its concave (3D) vegan leather material, the Voyager Grey colorway stands apart from other smartphone aesthetics.

The Realme GT Master Edition will go on sale in the UK and Europe soon.

    Realme GT Explorer Master Edition

There is also a second smartphone that has been announced, the Realme GT Explorer Master Edition that offers increased performance thanks to the Snapdragon 870 chipset. It’s available in 8/128GB and 8/256GB storage options and priced at $499 and $549 respectively.

A curved Super AMOLED curved display sourced from Samsung with FHD+ resolution, 1100 nits peak brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and 480Hz touch sampling rate. A 4,600mAh battery is present which supports the 65W SuperDart charging.

In the photography department, you’ll find a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera with OIS, a 16MP ultra-wide lens with 123° FoV, a 4MP macro lens, and a 32MP selfie camera.

Also available in the Voyager Grey suitcase design, the GT Explorer Master Edition can be had in Luna White and Daybreak colorways.

    Realme Book

Besides the two smartphones, the Realme Book laptop has been launched which marks the brand’s debut in the Windows PC segment. Sporting a 14-inch 2K display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and powered by Intel’s 11th Gen Core processors (i3 and i5), the Realme Book can be had with up to 16GB LPDDR4 memory and up to 512GB SSD storage.

The Realme Book also features an all-metallic chassis, up to 11-hours battery life, ultra-speedy charging with 65W Super-Fast Charging, and a dual-fan Storm Cooling system. The power button also has an integrated fingerprint sensor for speedy logging in, with dual microphones that aid noise cancellation, and an HD webcam that is placed in a usable position in the top bezel, unlike Huawei’s MateBook that feature a nostril cam thanks to the camera being hidden in the function keys on the keyboard. In case you were wondering, the Realme Book’s keyboard is backlit, and there’s also a pair of Harman speakers that support DTS.

Running Windows 10 and naturally updateable to Windows 11, the Realme Book offers enhanced connectivity options thanks to PC Connect that lets you seamlessly connect your phone to the laptop. This brings the ability to transfer files (two-way) speedily, clipboard sharing between the devices, show the phone’s notifications with banners, and also to intelligently recognize the file types and automatically open the documents stored on your phone using the appropriate Microsoft Office program on the Realme Book, with files able to be saved directly to your phone.

The i5 variant also supports Thunderbolt 4, WiFi 6, and Intel’s Iris Xe graphics, which is a neat addition. Just 14.9mm thick, the Realme Book is available in Real Blue and Real Grey with pricing as follows:

    • i3 with 8/256GB: $749
    • i3 with 8/512GB: $799
    • i5 with 8/512GB: $969
    • i5 with 16/512GB: $999
