As we frequently explain, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is a performant analog of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but is given a few viable 8 Gen 3 technology updates. As such, this powerful (and highly efficient) SoC can effortlessly handle any game you can throw at it.

Legacy games like PUBG and League of Legends at maxed refresh rates? Check. Genshin Impact and Wuthering Heights at Advanced settings at 60FPS? Absolutely doable. This is even supported by realme’s Iceberg Vapor Cooling System, maintaining the chip’s top clock speeds throughout your sessions.

The Realme GT 6 is also equipped with up to 16GB of RAM, which is absolute overkill, plus a rather welcome max 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Display Screen

This model features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2780 × 1264 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Pretty normal under this form factor, actually. This is backed up with a 10-bit color depth, and 100% (claimed) P3 color gamut, for that consistently rich and deep-colored visuals.

I still wouldn’t expect too much of its 6,000-nits brightness claim, however. Indeed, it should be way more noticeable compared to other bang-for-the-buck flagships, and definitely more than enough for HDR content. But we may have yet another GT Neo 6 SE situation here (claimed versus practical).

Its 2500Hz touch sampling rate should also be fairly impressive. Though, again, it becomes somewhat expected at the tier it is competing against.

Camera Performance

Realme has “completely revamped” the imaging system in the GT 6 series. The main camera features a Sony LYT-808 sensor with optical image stabilization, a large 1/1.4-inch sensor, and an f/1.69 aperture, delivering above-average low-light performance. We also have the obligatory 50MP telephoto lens with an equivalent focal length of 47mm.

On the software side, its HyperTone Image Engine processes raw image data directly, and is supposedly one of the phone’s primary AI imaging enhancement features.

Other Notable Features

Connectivity features for the realme GT 6 include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, Dual Band GPS L1 + L5, and 360-degree NFC. Then you also have Antenna Array Matrix 2.0 plus Tactile Engine Pro (an enhanced privacy encryption chipset). Its battery is rated at a rather beefy 5500mAh, and supports 120W SUPERVOOC charging, claimed to provide 50% charge in just 10 minutes.

The OS is Realme UI 5.0m, based on Android 14. NEXT AI will be rolling out for the GT 6 as well, which enables (other) powerful AI features such as AI Night Vision, AI Smart Removal, and AI Smart Loop.

Price and Availability

The Realme GT 6 series has launched globally today, June 20th, marking its return to European markets after quite a long while. Starting price will be $590 for the base 8GB 256GB variant. It will be available in two captivating colors: Fluid Silver, and Razor Green.

All in all, a great theoretical combination of an updated powerful chipset, above-average camera specs, run-of-the-mill AI features, and a even few overkill specs. It caters to a combined use case that is applicable to spec enthusiasts, gamers, and maybe even multimedia experts alike. Might not actually bite too hard on that “flagship-killer” marketing, but it gets fairly close.
