Realme TechLife Watch R100 can be your next smartwatch in the affordable segment.
Realme recently expanded its wearables portfolio with the launch of the TechLife Watch R100. The new smartwatch from the company promises to offer the standard set of smartwatch features like a heart rate monitor, blood oxygen saturation measurement and more, at an affordable price point.
I have been using the Realme TechLife Watch R100 for a while now and here’s my detailed review that will help you decide whether you should buy the Realme TechLife Watch R100 or not.
Realme TechLife Watch R100 price and availability
The Realme TechLife Watch R100 is priced at ₹3,999 and is available on Flipkart, Realme online store and the company’s offline retail partners.
It comes in Black and Grey colour options.
Realme TechLife Watch R100 design and display
The Realme TechLife Watch R100 comes with a round dial and a 1.32-inch display with 450 nits rated brightness. It has an aluminium bezel and a plastic back that helps in keeping the watch lightweight at just 46 grams.
The watch comes with silicone straps which can be easily removed if needed. The straps are well made, and I did not experience any skin irritation during my use. Even if you have sensitive skin, you do not have to worry about irritation due to this watch.
The 1.32-inch circular display is bright even under direct sunlight and the visibility outdoors is very good.
If you’re a fan of the traditional circular watch design, the Realme TechLife Watch R100 is a good option.
Realme TechLife Watch R100 features
The Realme TechLife Watch R100 comes with a host of fitness features. In terms of sensors, it is equipped with a heart rate sensor, a heart rate monitor, and an accelerometer.
It offers over 100+ sports modes including cricket, swimming, functional strength training and even dance. It also offers sedentary and water reminders to help you stay active and hydrated.
The Realme TechLife Watch R100 allows you to monitor your heart rate, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) levels, sleep quality and stress monitoring, among several other things. It is also IP68 rated, allowing you to use it to track your swimming sessions as well.
The Realme TechLife Watch R100 can be paired with the Realme Wear app to easily view your health statistics and activity details.
Realme TechLife Watch R100 performance and battery life
The Realme Watch comes with the company’s customised user interface, which is not as feature rich as WearOS. It offers a minimalistic experience and while the watch faces are not customisable, you have over 100 options to choose from.
We compared the steps and distance covered on the Realme TechLife Watch R100 with the Oppo Watch. There was a variance of around 5 to 10% on the Realme TechLife Watch R100, which is expected at this price range.
On a positive note, sleep tracking and blood oxygen tracking were accurate on the Realme TechLife Watch R100. The heart rate tracking on the smartwatch is accurate as well. For verifying blood oxygen statistics, I used a certified oximeter and observed that the readings were similar.
Coming to battery life, the Realme TechLife Watch R100 is equipped with a 380mAh battery. In my usage, I found that it offers excellent battery life and with an always-on display turned on during the day, I managed to get around six days of battery life.
Realme Wear app
As mentioned earlier, the Realme TechLife Watch R100 can be linked with the company’s Realme Wear app. Linking the device is quite easy, all you need to do is login and click on “Connect device”.
Once you have connected your watch to the app, you will be able to control the watch using the app, and also upgrade to the latest software.
The watch offers an easy-to-use interface and allows you to view important information such as workouts, sleep reports, heart rate reports, blood oxygen reports and more.
Verdict
Realme gets plenty of things right with the Watch R100. The battery life is very impressive and important features like blood oxygen measurement, heart rate monitoring, and sleep tracking are accurate. Realme needs to fine-tune basics like activity and steps tracking to make this a complete package. The user interface is mostly fine, but there is a slight lag while scrolling at times.
Realme’s decision to stay away from Wear OS might be slightly surprising, but the Realme Wear app works well and offers enough data points to keep a track of your fitness.
