Renders For The Sony Xperia 1 VI And Xperia 10 VI Have Leaked

The Sony Xperia 1 VI Is Dressed To The Nines

Sony’s Xperia 1 series gets a lot of attention in its home country, but not as much outside of it, likely thanks to a high price and odd design choices. However, this year, the Xperia 1 VI looks set to change things up quite a bit, and while it looks rather similar to last year’s model, I reckon interest might be a bit different this time around.

The Xperia 1 VI is expected to come in three colorways. There’s a black, silver, and what looks like a very dark green option. They all look very classy though, giving the impression of a device that’s all business.

The display is flat with very thin bezels at the left and right sides, though the chin and forehead are rather sizable by today’s standards. The forehead holds the selfie camera off center though. It’s also evident, just from the renders, that the device will truly be adopting a shorter aspect ratio. Leaks put the actual number at 19.5:9, down from 21:9 for all previous generations.

The back panel is flat, with “Sony” written horizontally in the center and “Xperia” written towards the bottom. The only part that’s not flat is the vertically oriented triple-camera module that sticks out a bit. Aesthetically though, it blends in well. The device’s frame has multiple ridges running all around the frame, which adds texture and should make this phone very easy to hold.

The right side of the smartphone has the volume rocker and power button, as well as what I assume is a textured shutter button towards the bottom. The USB-C port and SIM card/microSD slot are on the bottom, along with the 3.5mm jack at the top.

The Design Of The Sony Xperia 10 VI Is Basic But Nice

The Sony Xperia 10 series is the bottom of the pile and a mid-range series that the company currently offers, and this year, we’re expecting them to come forth with the Sony Xperia 10 VI. Along with the leaks for its big brother, we’ve been able to get some renders on the Xperia 10 VI that let us into some changes that Sony is planning to make.

The front will get a flat display and moderate bezels on the left and right. The forehead and chin are equally large, though the forehead holds the front camera yet again, and it seems Sony wants to avoid punch-hole cameras at all costs. Just by eye though, it looks like this device might stick to the 21:9 aspect ratio.

The back panel is flat, with Sony and Xperia labeling in the center and near the bottom respectively. The phone will come in white, black, and light blue. The camera module is in the upper-left corner, but there’s a notable difference here — there are only two cameras now instead of three. Sony likely let go of the 2x telephoto lens as there’s only a very slight camera bump here.

The right side of the curved frame has the power button and volume rocker, the left side has the SIM card/microSD slot, the top has the 3.5mm jack, and the bottom has the USB-C port.
