The Dark Matter Hyper-K Wireless mouse from Monoprice is a head-turner. This ultra-light mouse has a pleasant honeycomb design and vivid RGB lighting. Accordingly, it looks striking, no matter how gaudy your gaming setup. Alongside this, I was amazed by its build quality and how comfortable it was to use during marathon gaming sessions.

This full-sized mouse was surprisingly light. Weighing in at a mere 70g, you hardly notice you are using it. Additionally, the incredible 16,000 DPI sensitivity was impressive. On top of this, it has a fantastic battery life and it can be used wired or wirelessly via a dongle. As such, this ticks many boxes for fussy gamers.

What’s in the box of the Dark Matter Hyper-K Wireless mouse?

  • The packaging is dark and attractive. The simple imagery and key information will catch your eye. Moreover, it can be recycled.
  • The Dark Matter Hyper-K Wireless mouse appears understated. However, once its RGB lights are activated, it is a different beast!
  • Use the 2.4 GHz dongle to play wirelessly.
  • Forget about the battery and use the USB-C braided cable.
  • Learn the fundamentals with the user manual.

Technical aspects.

Competitive gaming requires some basic but important elements. If your mouse is slow and unresponsive, then you are going to become frustrated. Thankfully, the Dark Matter Hyper-K Wireless mouse is wickedly fast. With 6 pre-set options available, you can select the DPI that works for you. Furthermore, an impressive up to 1000 Hz polling rate ensures that every input is acknowledged. Accordingly, you needn’t worry about losing that gaming edge.

Another fine feature was the incredible battery life and the secure connection options. The 300 mAh battery allows you to play up to 50 hours of non-LED gaming. However, this is cut much shorter if you go loud and proud. However, worry not as the mouse can be used whilst it is charging. Additionally, it takes around 3 hours to charge from empty to full. Consequently, you are never out of the game for too long.

Build quality.

Owning a responsive and easy-to-use mouse is one thing. However, I need it to be built to last. Like other gamers, my equipment takes a beating. Whether it is rage quitting or clumsiness, I need my peripherals to be super strong. Thankfully, the Dark Matter Hyper-K Wireless mouse is pretty hardy. The honeycomb shell is strong and attractive and the buttons will last 50 million presses. This was incredible, and I was reassured that this was built to last.

On top of this, the RGB is a thing of beauty. As you change the DPI setting, the LED colour corresponds to your selection. Accordingly, you know if you’ve picked the comfortable 800 DPI or the monstrous 16,000 option. Moreover, there are some well-placed side buttons to improve usability further. Unlike other gaming mice, this peripheral focuses on simplicity. As such, you won’t get confused with multiple macros and never-ending buttons.

Finally, I loved the lightweight nature of this mouse. What’s more, the curved body and honeycomb shell feel comfortable at all times. Consequently, I experienced no fatigue or issues whenever I used this item.

Is the Dark Matter Hyper-K Wireless mouse worth it?

There are many great gaming mice available. I’ve reviewed and enjoyed using the ROCCAT Kone XP Air. However, now it’s time to mix things up a bit. Thankfully, the Dark Matter Hyper-K Wireless mouse ticks many boxes. Furthermore, it is comfortable, attractive, and unbelievably light. Additionally, it is simple to set up and it won’t destroy your budget. Subsequently, I was impressed and I recommend that you buy it here!
