Technical aspects.
I was blown away by the Earthbound XL audio sunglasses. Not only are they easy to use, but the audio quality is impressive. The 4 built-in speakers deliver pitch-perfect sound without compromising your spatial awareness. Accordingly, your safety is maintained no matter how busy your surroundings are. Additionally, the excellent noise-cancelling microphones help to reduce unwanted external sounds. As such, you enjoy crystal-clear communication when you speak to your friends or ChatGPT.
On top of this, the Bluetooth 5.2 feature has an incredible 100-foot range. What’s more, the connection is reliable, quick, and stable. As such, you can rely on these sunglasses if you have to take important work calls. On top of this, they can connect to any compatible Bluetooth device. Subsequently, you needn’t worry if you are using an Android device or an iPhone. Finally, the impressive up to 12-hour battery life will keep you in the game for longer. However, the longevity of your battery power will depend on various factors such as prolonged high volume levels.
Audio quality.
Sunglasses and audio quality don’t normally go hand-in-hand. However, the Earthbound XL audio sunglasses deliver impressive sound and microphone quality. The open-ear arrangement may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Yet, I loved the ability to hear my surroundings. Furthermore, if needed, you can cup your hand near your ear to reduce external sounds and improve your listening experience.
Though the bass isn’t as powerful as I’d have liked, the tonal range was impressive. Even with the volume turned down, I could identify each key component in a range of tracks from various genres. This was particularly impressive when you consider the size of the speakers and the minimal power consumption. My only complaint would be when trying to listen to songs in extremely loud environments. When this happened, the audio was tough to listen to and that was frustrating.
The microphones utilise noise-cancelling technology to block out unwanted sounds. This was well-delivered as every phone call or Zoom call was crystal clear. Additionally, there were no latency issues or unwanted popping or echoed conversations. As such, these work perfectly if you want a hands-free solution.
Build quality.
The audio was phenomenal. Yet, the build quality blew me away! The spring hinges help to create a tailored fit that keeps the glasses in place. Moreover, the XL style and slim frames are on trend and look fantastic. The sleek black finish delivers a classic and professional finish that is complemented by the dark polarised lenses. What’s more, the slim nose clips are comfortable even when worn for hours.
Alongside this, I was impressed by the placement of the speakers and the in-built switches. Once you understand each command, you can pause, rewind, fast-forward, or play tracks to your heart’s content. On top of this, you can ask Google, Siri, or ChatGPT any questions you like at the touch of a button. Consequently, they look great whilst improving your productivity.
