Become the legendary part-man, part-machine, all-cop hero needed to take back Old Detroit as “RoboCop: Rogue City” heads to Mac at the end of April.
RoboCop: Rogue City was initially announced for Mac at WWDC 2024, but there virtually no mention of the title in the nine months that followed. However, the developers have now confirmed that the game will be released on the Mac App Store on April 30.
Based on the “RoboCop” films, RoboCop: Rogue City is a first-person shooter that sees the player clearing crime out of Old Detroit. Players take on the role of Alex Murphy, the titular robotic cop, as he battles corruption and criminal gangs in an original story set between “RoboCop 2” and “RoboCop 3.”
Combining brutal FPS combat with investigation, players are tasked with enforcing justice using the signature Auto-9 pistol and RoboCop’s enhanced crimefighting abilities. To take back Old Detroit, RoboCop must interrogate suspects, engage in firefights, and take down criminals — all while bringing down crime levels and balancing the public’s perception of RoboCop.
The game was initially released for PS5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S in November 2023. According to Metacritic the game is generally well received, receiving scores of 70+ across all current platforms.
Players can preorder RoboCop: Rogue City on the App Store for $69.99. In order to play, players will need a Mac with an M1 chip or newer, and must be running macOS Sonoma or later.
