Samsung’s new Galaxy Z foldables are nearing launch and as that time draws nearer, we’ve been made privy to some rumors regarding the European pricing of the smartphones. I’m going to advise that we all do like skeptics and take this pricing with a grain of salt. It looks unreasonably expensive but not to the extent where you feel Samsung absolutely couldn’t try it.

The pricing comes on X via Sudhanshu Ambhore, who has revealed the European pricing for both upcoming foldables in all storage configurations. The Z Fold 6 is more of an eye-popper though, so let’s start with that. It is expected that the base 12/256GB configuration of the Z Fold 6 is going to cost €2,200. This will step up to €2,330 to double the storage to 512GB, and then €2,580 to double the storage further to 1TB. That last model is closer to €3,000 than it is to €2,000.

Personally, I want to believe that this can’t be the case. That would be a €300 price bump compared to each respective storage variant for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, and you hardly see price increases that heavy when it comes to smartphone successors. However, interested parties in the US won’t need to worry so much, as it seems the price hike is expected to only be $100. It is still somewhat ridiculous though as the leaked specs don’t indicate much to justify a price increase in the first place.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Has Also Had Its Price Leaked; Getting More Expensive Too

The Z Flip 6 might be the smaller model, but it’s not escaping a price increase either. It’s going to be coming in two storage configurations, of which the base 12/256GB configuration will cost €1,330 and the 512GB version will cost €1,450. That’s a €210 and €130 price hike over the Z Flip 5 — admittedly easier to swallow, but still a lot. In the US, it’s expected to see a $100 increase on each model.

This Pricing Is Being Disputed Though, Which Is Hopefully The Case

Compared to the expected increase in the US, the European pricing seems improbably more expensive, and hopefully, it isn’t the case. Max Jambor on X has refuted the pricing provided by the original source and simply says it isn’t accurate.

There’s nothing more said, however, so whether the pricing is significantly lower or just a bit lower isn’t known yet. However, it is extremely unlikely that it will be any higher than that.
