Samsung Could Launch The Galaxy S24 FE This Summer

This collaboration between Samsung Display, Anapass, and Stemco (producing the chip-on-film packaging), is expected to contribute to the S24 FE’s supposed “enhanced visual experience”.

While this news does give us the “true” implied confirmation of a Galaxy S24 FE in the works, it does not corroborate any of the other rumors that have already been floating around during the last few months. At the very least, the timing of the production schedule theoretically puts the phone’s release date sometime during this year’s summer, which we presume is more than enough to keep the hype.

Galaxy S24 FE Leaks Recap

To recap, one of the most significant rumors for the S24 FE as of late is the inclusion of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Exynos 2400 SoC, the expected step-up from its predecessor, if confirmed to exist. In addition to the expected 2024 flagship processor, the phone is also expected to feature a triple camera setup consisting of 50MP, 12MP, and 8MP sensors, up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Another improvement rumored for the S24 FE is the inclusion of more extensive cooling tech. This could help offset the anticipated reduction in efficiency due to how the SoC clock speeds (especially the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3) are pushed within their designed process node limits. The Galaxy S24 FE is also expected to feature a brighter 6.1-inch AMOLED display and a slightly larger 4,500 battery.

Taming Expectations

But while the Galaxy S24 FE is expected to offer a fairly impressive spec bump, some trade-offs are likely to keep the device somewhat below the Plus and Ultra variants. The previous Galaxy S23 FE, for instance, featured a static display refresh rate and cheaper materials instead of simply having tuned-down specs here and there. Also, despite all of this info floating around (confirmed and unconfirmed), Samsung has yet to officially double down on any details about the Galaxy S24 FE.

That being said, should all of these prove accurate (including its supposed launch period), the phone could offer a compelling balance of performance, features, and affordability, with a potential price point starting at $599 in the US.
