We thought it was all over in terms of leaks with new info but the drip-feed continues with the news that Samsung has developed a pair of new wireless chargers for the Galaxy S22 series. Sporting 15W output, the new chargers feature a new design to match the new phones.
According to WinFuture, the new wireless chargers will likely launch a couple of weeks after the Galaxy S22 makes its debut. Both wireless chargers are said to feature a flat base with the ability to transform so as to prop charge the phone in portrait orientation if required. As you might expect, they are compatible with Qi charging standards, and will thus be able to charge phones from other brands wirelessly albeit at slower speeds of 5W or 10W. It’s reported that both the Galaxy Note 20 series and last year’s Galaxy S21 range will be able to fully charge within 2 hours.
The Duo Wireless Charger carries model number EP-P5400 (above) and is naturally larger than the single Wireless Charger (below) that has model number EP-P2400, both of which are capable of 15W output and will be available in black and white colorways.
In case you were wondering, you will be able to use the new wireless chargers to charge your smartwatch so long as it’s one of Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 3, Watch Active2, or Watch Active wearables.
For the moment, it’s not known how much the new wireless chargers will cost, but it’s unlikely that they will be more affordable than their predecessors. What do you think of the new wireless chargers?
