The first half of 2021 has seen Samsung launch a range of new A-series smartphones including the Galaxy A32 5G and Galaxy A52, and today the budget-minded Galaxy A22 5G is official. Powered by MediaTek’s popular Dimensity 700 chipset that is also present in the Realme 8 5G, the Galaxy A22 5G also packs a big battery, a 48MP main rear camera, and even has NFC, MicroSD card support, and an audio jack.
Details on pricing and availability for the US have yet to be revealed, but the Galaxy A22 5G also sports a 6.6-inch Infinity-V IPS display with FHD+ resolution and comes in the following RAM/Storage configurations depending on the region:

- 4/128GB
- 6/128GB
- 8/128GB
Featuring Dolby Atmos audio, the Galaxy A22 5G packs a trio of rear cameras including the 48MP main sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth camera, with an 8MP selfie camera sitting in the central teardrop notch on the display.
Connectivity includes 5G, WiFi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, MicroSD card support, audio jack, and a USB Type-C charging port. The big 5,000mAh battery supports 15W fast-charging and should be good for multi-day usage.
When the Galaxy A22 5G goes on sale it will be available in grey, mint, violet, and white. It’s priced at £199 (~$280) in the UK but we’ll update the post when Samsung reveals the details on how much the Galaxy A22 5G will cost in the US.
