Touchscreen gaming can be a little tricky at times but controllers such as Razer’s Kishi offer a more traditional, and perhaps more reliable method of controlling your gameplay. Adding to the options is GameSir with the X2 Bluetooth Mobile Game Controller and the F7 Claw Tablet Game Controller, both of which are compatible with Android and iOS devices.

The X2 Bluetooth controller is compatible with cloud gaming platforms such as Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Google Stadia, Nvidia GeForce Now, Vortex, and Apple Arcade. There’s a split design that has a joystick on both sides, with a D-Pad on the left and ABXY buttons on the right. The L1/L2 and R1/R2 trigger buttons offer high sensitivity with a small contact gap, and there’s even a screenshot button.

The controller expands to hold phones up to 173mm securely and features a USB-C charging port and a 500mAh battery that is said to be good for up to 20 hours of usage. Already available on Amazon in the US and the UK, the X2 Bluetooth Controller can be had for $60/£70.

Compatible with both iPads and Android tablets, the F7 Claw Controller is the world’s first capacitive gamepad for tablets and features a suction cup design that allows it to attach to a device securely. Able to be used with tablets that are 6-12mm thick, the F7 Claw has an ergonomic six-finger “Claw” game-playing arrangement. There are L1/L2 and R1/R2 triggers as well as a couple of “Turbo” buttons that control the burst frequency of the L1 and R1 buttons.

With an amazing 120 hour playing time and a 200 day standby time from just 2 hours charge via the USB-C port, GameSir’s F7 Claw could be the answer to mobile gaming on tablets. The F7 Claw Tablet Game Controller will be available from May 24th for $40/£34, and we’ll update the article with links once it goes on sale.

He’s been an Android fan ever since owning an HTC Hero, with the Dell Streak being his first phablet. He currently carries an OPPO Find X2 Pro in his pockets, a Galaxy Tab S5e in his backpack, and thinks nothing of lugging a 17-inch laptop around the world. When not immersed in the world of Android and gadgets, he’s an avid sports fan, and like all South Africans, he loves a good Braai (BBQ).
