Rare’s pirate adventure Sea of Thieves is continuing to grow, with more and more players flocking to explore the ocean, pillage and plunder. Rare announced on Tuesday via Xbox Wire that Sea of Thieves reached 25 million players, five million more than the prior milestone in March when the game reached 20 million players.
This news also comes after Rare confirmed June was the best month for Sea of Thieves yet, with 4.8 million active players in the month thanks to the launch of the A Pirate’s Life expansion, a crossover with Pirates of the Caribbean.
In celebration of this news, Rare is giving away 25,000 Gold and 25 Doubloons to any players that log into Sea of Thieves by Oct. 26. One random player who turns in treasure by Oct. 26 is going to be selected to receive 25 million gold, so if you’ve been away from the game for a bit, this is a good time to hop back in.
