A bipartisan group of four House Financial Services Committee members pressed US Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler to immediately approve listings of spot Bitcoin exchange-traded products, accusing the agency of discriminating against such products based on an “untenable” policy posture.
Majority Whip Tom Emmer, Republican Mike Flood and House Democrats Wiley Nickel and Ritchie Torres urged Gensler to “approve the listing of Bitcoin ETPs immediately,” arguing that regulation for such products would make Bitcoin safer and more transparent for investors.
