Sennheiser is giving its most affordable pair of earbuds the “plus” treatment. Meet the new Sennheiser CX Plus, a stylish set of wireless earbuds with killer sound, ANC, and a Transparency mode to help you hear your surroundings. They ain’t exactly cheap at $180, but they’re a killer deal by Sennheiser standards.

So what do you get for $180? Aside from its ANC and Transparency modes, the Sennheiser CX Plus sport an IPX4 sweat resistance rating, Bluetooth 5.2 support, custom EQ through the Sennheiser Smart Control app, and a total 28-hour battery life with the charging case.

TrueResponse transducers help the new CX Plus earbuds achieve their signature Sennheiser sound, while wide codec support (BC, AAC, aptX, and aptX Adaptive) ensure clear audio with limited latency. And unlike the more expensive Momentum 2 earbuds, you can use the CX Plus’ left or right earbuds independently from one another (Momentum 2 won’t let you use the left earbud on its own).

If you’re just looking for an affordable pair of Sennheiser earbuds and don’t care about ANC or Transparency modes, then the standard Sennheiser CX ($130) are still a great option. But the CX Plus are a compelling alternative to the Momentum 2 earbuds ($300), packing similar features at a much lower price.

Sennheiser will release the CX Plus buds on September 28th. A pre-order link is available on Sennheiser’s website, though it isn’t working at the time of writing.
