Sling TV is the latest of many to increase prices.
Bummer. Like everyone else lately, Sling TV is getting ready to increase prices for all subscribers. Starting on December 3, 2022, the base Sling TV package will now cost $40 per month, an increase of $5. However, it’s not all bad news, as the company announced extra channels and more features are coming soon.
This comes on the heels of a January 2021 increase from $30 to $35 a month, slowly making the service more expensive. That said, Sling TV is still one of the most affordable live TV services and is excellent for sports fans.
Signing up for either the Sling Orange or Sling Blue packages will now cost $40 instead of $35, and subscribing to both Orange and Blue costs more, starting at $55 per month. Then, additional add-on options are available to those who need even more content.
Sling TV said in a blog post: “Raising prices for our customers is not something we take lightly. We recognize that historically high inflation is impacting our customers every day and our goal is not to be another burden to your wallet. During these challenging times, Sling will continue to deliver the lowest price combined with an industry-leading user experience, flexibility, and ease to watch top channels such as CNN, ESPN, FOX News, NFL RedZone, TNT, FOX Sports 1, and many more.”
Sling TV is one of the best streaming services thanks to its “a la carte TV” approach, and even with this increase, it’s still more affordable than YouTube TV or Hulu + Live TV.
While no one wants to pay more for something they’re already enjoying, Sling TV did have some exciting news to share. Throughout 2023 the company plans to add 150+ new channels and finally introduce user profiles for subscribers, along with a new auto Binge Watching mode.
I’ve enjoyed Sling TV since it first arrived in 2015 and will look forward to user profiles and additions to the channel lineup.
