After rolling out the Android 10 update to the Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 back in December it’s now the Xperia XZ2 and XZ3 ranges turn to get upgraded to the latest version of Android. This is in line with the Android 10 roadmap that Sony released in November.
The Android 10 update is now rolling out to Xperia XZ3, XZ2 (reviewed here), XZ2 Compact, and XZ2 Premium handsets bring the build number up to v52.1.A.0.532. While the OS upgrade brings a host of new features such as system-wide dark mode and the improved sharing menu, it seems that Sony has not included the updated stock launcher. This means that Android 10’s enhanced gesture navigation isn’t present although it might be addressed in a future update.
If you haven’t received the update yet, you may want to open up Settings and tap on System Updates to see if it is available to download and install. You can also use Sony’s Xperia Companion desktop application to install the update to your handset.
