Spoil your gaming PC with MSI’s Optix MAG272CQR 165Hz monitor, down to $310 for Prime Day

Those shopping around this Prime Day for a new gaming monitor should have a look at the MSI Optix MAG272CQR. This high-end 27-inch monitor has a QHD resolution, curved screen, ergonomic stand, and more that makes it an ideal pairing with a gaming laptop or PC. It’s one of my personal favorites and is a mainstay on my desk.

It doesn’t, however, come cheap, with a regular price of $400. That’s been knocked down to $320 over at Newegg, plus there’s an additional $10 off with coupon code MSJUN22. That brings the total price down to $310.

In my review of the MSI Optix MAG272CQR I awarded it a Windows Central Recommended badge thanks to its impressive offering of features and its high-performance display. Indeed, this display is ideal for anyone who has a PC that can push frame rates up to 165Hz, which is where the monitor is capped. It also has a 1ms response time and AMD FreeSync (it also works fine with G-Sync) for reduced screen tearing.

The 2560×1440 (QHD) resolution will make your games look crisp and clear, and color is spot on with 100% sRGB and 85% AdobeRGB reproduction. The curve ups immersion, and you’ll no doubt find it hard to go back to a “flat” monitor after seeing the edges bend in towards you.

The OSD is easy to control and there are plenty of settings tweaks available in order to get the perfect picture. Connect with USB-C (super handy), HDMI 2.0, or DisplayPort, and take advantage of two downstream USB-A 3.2 ports for accessories.

I recommended this monitor at its usual $400 price tag when I reviewed it, and at $310 for Prime Day it’s even easier to spotlight. Be sure to check out our collection of the best Prime Day laptop deals if you need a new gaming PC to go along with it.
