The One UI 6 Watch stable update has been released for Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic. Previously, only users enrolled in Samsung’s beta program had access to it. The program has been running since mid-June 2024, and you had to be within eligible regions to be a participant. Fortunately, the update is now available as a stable over-the-air (OTA) update.
Over this period, Samsung released nine beta builds, working on bug fixes and performance improvements before concluding with the stable release. Older Galaxy Watch models, like the Watch 5 and Watch 4 series, should receive this update soon as well.
Samsung ends Beta Program with stable One UI 6 release
On October 24, The One UI Beta Program Operations Manager made an interesting announcement on the community forum. Samsung has released the final version of the One UI 6 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 6 Bluetooth (BT) version, with other versions rolling out soon.
The update is built on top of Google’s Wear OS 5 and brings new watch faces. Also, it comes with updated Samsung Health features, and double-pinch gesture on supported Galaxy Watch models.
The Beta Program Manager confirmed the beta program’s end, saying they won’t release further beta updates and will disable beta feedback. If you’ve been part of the beta, Samsung is urging you to update to the stable build to keep getting updates.
As shared by Reddit users already receiving it, the release comes with the October 2024 security patch and wraps up months of testing to squash bugs. It’s roughly 136MB.
The Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra models were the first to launch with the stable One UI 6 software. Now the Galaxy Watch 6 is also receiving the finalized software update. If you have the LTE version, the update may take a bit longer, but it’s on the way. The same goes for Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 4 users, who will receive the update in the coming days.

With the One UI 6 Watch update, your Galaxy Watch gets practical upgrades. Energy Score now helps you understand how well-rested and prepared you are for the day after analyzing your sleep and physical activity.
Another big change is the detailed sleep insights powered by Galaxy AI. You’ll be able to monitor how long it took to fall asleep after lying down, along with your heart and respiratory rates throughout the night.
The double-pinch gesture feature is one extra thing to be excited about. It lets you interact with your Galaxy Watch hands-free. You’ll double-pinch your fingers together, bringing your thumb and index finger together twice in quick succession to perform quick actions like answering a call, dismissing notifications, or launching any app.
Plus, Wear OS 5’s Android 13 foundation provides a smoother, more responsive experience overall, along with better battery life so you’re not charging up as often. There’s also a refined system font that makes the interface more interesting.
