STALKER 2 gets its first post-launch patch with 650 fixes in tow, including nerfs to mutants and improvements to Xbox gamepad deadzones

STALKER 2 launched on November 20, 2024 on PC and Xbox to widespread praise. Despite some rough edges, we couldn’t deny the sheer quality GSC Game World has managed to pour into STALKER 2 in our review. The atmosphere is absolutely off the scale, and unlike many of the corporate-feeling open world games of recent times.

Despite the plus points, STALKER 2 has been marred with issues ranging from crashes, optimization problems, lighting anomalies, and balance quirks. GSC Game World noted last week that it planned to buff out some of the game’s biggest kinks, but the team was being pretty modest. Despite saying balance issues and the Xbox gamepad deadzone problem wouldn’t be fixed until later, this patch actually does include fixes for those issues, in addition to 650 other wide-ranging problems.
