Two of the biggest Apple TV+ series have reportedly been affected by the writers’ and actors’ strikes in Hollywood, with “Silo” shut down and “Foundation” likely to follow.
Members of the Writers’ Guild of America have now been on strike for three months over pay and conditions, and they were joined in July by actors in the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). Both unions are US-based but even though “Silo” is being filmed in the UK, it has now been shut down, according to Deadline.
“Silo” star Rebecca Ferguson is not barred from her executive producer duties on the series, but actors can neither film nor promote their shows. Similarly, writers obviously can’t write, but they also can’t promote their work.
