Virginia Tech hosted several football camps this summer.
We had a few Covington High School athletes attend these camps to better their skills.
Purcel Turner and Luke Conner attended both camps on June 26th and July 30th. Jyron Smith attended the July 30th camp.
The sacrifice that these young men gave by giving up a few days of their summer vacation proves that they have the determination to want to get better and build more knowledge for the game of football. The outside opportunities are available to help athletes improve themselves for the game.
Head Coach, Brent Pry joined the Virginia Tech Hokies after serving the past eight seasons as defensive coordinator/linebackers coach at Penn State University. Coach Pry was officially named the Hokies head football coach on November 30, 2021.
Coach Pry gave a speech to the young inspiring college bound hopefuls, and high schoolers. He spoke about hard work and determination. He also said, if you put in the work, you can achieve your goal. The additional coaching staff was phenomenal and they gave testimonials about their careers also.
Good luck in this final season as Cougars at Covington High School. Make the best memories in this ending of an era.
