The reason this particularly sucks is because there are fewer corporate T-Mobile stores than there are authorized retailers. That means that this is going to pretty significantly reduce how many people bother taking advantage of these deals. To be honest, I think that’s the plan.
Fewer Locations Means Lower Inventory And Shipping Costs For The Carrier
I don’t think T-Mobile minds the change and I also don’t think it is worth being angry over; it was free stuff after all. However, T-Mobile wins the best since fewer people will be able to redeem these free gifts, which means they don’t need to stock as much and they can lower their logistics costs since they only need to deliver to their own corporate stores.
The Concern Might Also Be Around Retailers Attempting Aggressive Upselling
