T-Mobile’s Go5G Plans Will Let You Add Other Devices For Just $5

We live in a very connected world, mostly thanks to our smartphones. Mobile carriers like T-Mobile keep those handy devices connected to the grid at all times, whether you’re taking calls or accessing the internet. However, these days, we need to keep a lot more than just our cell phones connected.

If you’ve got a tablet, smartwatch, or laptop—all of which are devices that can often benefit from cellular connectivity—T-Mobile is happy to let you know that you can add those devices to your Go5G Next or Go5G Business Next plans for a mere $5 each month.

A lot of smartwatches have the capability to be connected to a cellular network so you can use them independent of your smartphone. Not all tablets can fit SIM cards or support eSIMs, but many of them can. Even fewer laptops support cellular connectivity but if you’ve ever gotten your hands on one that does, it’s a game-changer. Keeping your connected devices connected is important but it can get costly.

That’s where T-Mobile is coming in to help. If you’ve got a Go5G Next or a Go5G Business Next plan, you’ll now be able to add extra devices to the plan for just a mere $5 per device, per month. Yep, that means you can add your smartwatch and a tablet and only end up paying $10 more than usual each month.

According to T-Mobile, that’s a big win, because its major competitors—AT&T and Verizon—are charging two to four times as much as that if you want to connect tablets and laptops. Yep, AT&T will ask for as much as $20.99 to connect a laptop or tablet. That’s definitely not fun for your pocket.

T-Mobile Is Also Going To Make It Easier To Get Cellular Models Of Devices Instead Of Wi-Fi-Only

Earlier, I mentioned how only some smartwatches, tablets, and laptops can be connected to cellular networks. Some users don’t need that level of connectivity, so manufacturers are able to offer Wi-Fi-only models for these, and they tend to come cheaper. That means where cellular-enabled options are available they’ll cost more—which could be the reason why you might not bother buying one.

Well, if the idea of an LTE smartwatch or a laptop with cellular connectivity is appealing to you but the price isn’t, T-Mobile says “I’ve got you, bro”. The company is going to cover the difference between cellular and Wi-Fi-only models of devices so that you can always buy the more connected option for the same price.

Plus, they’ll even offer up to $200 back if you buy a cellular laptop from somewhere else, as long as you connect it to their network.

For $100 a month (and even less for more lines), Go5G Next will get you free streaming on Apple TV+, Hulu, and Netflix, international data for your trips and work, and unlimited talk and text in Canada and Mexico. Of course, there’s unlimited 5G and talk and text across the country. That’s all in addition to the new $5 fee that we just talked about for all your connected devices.

Compared to what its competitors provide, T-Mobile’s Go5G Next plan is a pretty good deal. You can learn more about what T-Mobile’s Go5G Next plan has to offer here.
