It’s that time of year again when Las Vegas becomes the venue where the latest technological advances are showcased. Some of the highlights include a robotic snowblower, a robotic vacuum cleaner that can pick up your dirty socks, a laptop with a rollable screen, a new Android tablet with flagship specs that is actually portable, and a whole lot more. So join us after the break to check out TalkAndroid’s Best of CES 2025.
Switchbot Lock Ultra
Switchbot is making rental life much easier with the launch of its new Lock Ultra, which offers multiple unlocking methods and is compatible with most types of locks. Instead of replacing your current lock, the Lock Ultra can be installed as an afterthought on locks such as deadbolts, mortise and Jimmy Proof locks, and more. If you move out, you can simply remove it and take it with you to your next apartment.
Sixteen locking methods are supported, including fingerprint recognition, smartphone app control, NFC cards, and voice commands via Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri. When it comes to power, the Lock Ultra can use a rechargeable battery, a cold-resistant battery, and a supercapacitor microelectronic to stay activated.
Roborok Saros Z70
Taking robotic vacuums to the next level is Roborock with its new Saros Z70 model that not only vacuums and mops the floor but also moves light obstructions from its path. This means that items such as socks, cat toys, or perhaps a lost remote will be moved from the robot’s path and placed in a safe location.
Thanks to the built-in arm, which looks akin to the robotic arm seen on the old Space Shuttles, obstacles are lifted and moved out of the device’s path.
Despite the addition of the arm, which disappears into the body of the vacuum, Roborock still managed to keep the robot’s height down to 7.98cm.
Besides the headlining robotic arm feature, the Saroz Z70 also sports a FlexiArm Side Brush, which extends away from the device. The mop also extends from the device to cover more area.
And, if a vacuum-only task is chosen, the Saroz Z70 will ditch the mops at the base station before setting off. For the moment, Roborock hasn’t revealed just how much the Saroz Z70 will cost, but it’s likely to be above the $1,000 threshold.
Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6
We’ve all been there when the laptop screen just isn’t big enough for what you are trying to view, whether it is specifications for a new phone or a spreadsheet for work. Lenovo has heard our plight and come up with the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable laptop, which, as its name suggests, features a rollable display that extends vertically.
Once activated, the rollable OLED display switches from 14-inches of real estate to an eye-widening 16.7-inches. Under the hood, you’ll find the latest Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors, 1TB of SSD storage, up to 32GB of DDR5x RAM, as well as a pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports and a 3.5mm port.
Lenovo says that the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable will launch in June for around $3,499. What do you think of it?
Yarbo
Tired of clearing the snow from your driveway or mowing the grass in summer when all you want to do is watch the game? Yarbo’s intelligent Modular Yard Robot could be the answer to your dreams thanks to the use of mowing, blower, and snowblower modules. This saves you both money and space in the garage.
With wireless auto-recharging, the ability to climb slopes of up to 35°, enough range to cover up to 31 acres, tracked movement, and able to be controlled remotely and via your smartphone, the Yarbo Intelligent Modular Robot promises to free up your time exponentially, regardless of which season it is.
You can pick up the Yarbo Core Robot for $3,799 with the various attachments starting from $4,700. It’s not exactly cheap, but will you worry about the price when you are busy doing something else that’s much more enjoyable?
Eufy E20 3-in-1 Robot Vacuum
I don’t know about you, but I’ve found that regardless of what type of vacuum I have, I wish I had a different type occasionally. Robot vacuums are tremendous but pretty useless if you want to clean the car or perhaps clean under furniture that is too low for the robot to fit. Luckily, Eufy is on the case and has dreamed up the new E20 3-in-1 Vacuum, which offers use in standard robot form, a stick vacuum, and as a handheld, all using the same powerplant.
With up to 8,000PA in stick or handheld form and 2,000PA in robot vacuum guise, the E20 offers the versatility that we need at a price that won’t break the bank. You can pre-order the E20 3-in-1 Vacuum directly from the Eufy Store for $499 or wait for it to go on general sale on platforms such as Amazon from February 10th onwards.
Narwal Flow Series
The makers of my personal favorite robot vacuum, the Freo Z Ultra, took the opportunity to unveil its newest creation, the Narwal Flow. Able to detect and avoid more than 200 obstacles, the vacuum can also raise its height to cross barriers up to 4cm high. Its main party trick, however, is its tracked mop, which can extend away from the device to better reach wall edges.
Also present is an anti-tangle side brush that extends, meaning that corners are no longer the enemy of this robot vacuum. Suction power gets a boost of up to 20,000Pa on carpets.
Narwal hasn’t announced a price for the Flow series yet, but it is scheduled to launch in June this year.
Anker 25,000mAh Power Bank
How many times have you gone on a trip and forgotten to bring a USB cable with you so you could connect to the power bank in your bag? It’s happened to me more times than I care to remember, which is why Anker’s new 25,000mAh Power Bank has been included in our Best of CES 2025 guide.
Packing not one but two built-in USB-C cables, plus an additional USB-C port and USB-A port, Anker’s power bank also features a nifty display panel that shows how much charge is remaining, which ports are being used, and even how much power they are drawing.
Housed in a smooth and curvy construction, Anker’s 25,000mAh Power Bank is just $99 on Amazon.
Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3
Lenovo’s third-generation gaming tablet has an 8.8-inch display with 2.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. It also uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and provides 12GB of RAM paired with 256GB of storage. You can manage the memory in Legion Space for all your games, settings, and performance.
Combined, all these features make playing first-person shooters and other demanding games enjoyable because of the ability to render the graphics and handle fast motion quickly. The Legion tablet also uses the Coldfront Vapor Chamber for heat management and carries a 6,550mAh battery. Despite its powerful specs, the tablet is thin at just 7.79mm and weighs around 350g.
Lenovo promises three OS upgrades to update up to Android 17. Bluetooth 5.4, WiFi 7 on 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz networks are also available.
Lenovo has priced the Legion Tab Gen 3 at $499. If you have been looking for a portable tablet with flagship specs, this looks to be your best option when it goes on sale.
