Tech review: The MyFirst Camera50 could be a great little device… if its purpose wasn’t so puzzling

The MyFirst Camera50

Want to give your kids a camera without having to give them a smartphone? That’s the idea behind the MyFirst Camera50, a brightly coloured, child-friendly gadget designed to let little one capture the world without the distractions, or risks, of a fully connected device.

It’s a nice concept, and given how much children love taking photos, there’s certainly a market for it. While it’s clearly aimed at kids, with its chunky design, safe social features and built-in vlog diary, I can’t help but wonder whether a dedicated camera is something a child really needs.
