Tech Reviews 16 Most Trusted Websites

Technology. It can make our lives easier and provide entertainment. It can save us money, save on labor, and even make us money. But, it can also add to our daily woes if we buy the wrong gear or make the wrong choices. And, if we do, it can prove really expensive. That’s where tech review sites come in. The best of these sites offer unbiased opinions and reviews of the latest tech gear so we can make better-informed decisions on the stuff we buy.

Techreport is one of my favorite tech sites for trustworthy reviews because it offers reviews and guides on more obscure topics as well as hot and trending tech topics. You’ll find a lot of content about social media and other big websites, and the site is especially keen on cryptocurrency and blockchain, so you can learn a lot about this disruptive technology here. Other areas of interest include Internet and PC security, streaming, and online gambling. There are multiple pieces, including news as well as reviews and guides, published every day, which means plenty of content to work through.

Techradar leans more towards consuming technology products, which means you will find reviews of products like the latest cell phones and streaming devices. Techradar claims to have more than 16,000 reviews on its site, which have been compiled thanks to 200,000 hours of testing by the tech review team. News articles also cover the latest topics and buyer’s guides don’t just advise which is the hottest product to own, but also hold your hand through the buying process so you can be sure you’re getting the best product for your needs.

Cnet offers a lot of reviews of technology products and it has podcasts and guides to help you make the best buying decision. It also has reviews of money products like bank accounts and credit cards as well as wellness products. In that sense, it is becoming a lot like Which? and that is useful if you like to get all your information from a single website. There’s now even a section that gives readers the answers to popular daily puzzles and games. So, it’s a great site if you want to read reviews on apple cider vinegar and the latest Samsung phone while also getting the answer for today’s Wordle puzzle.

While Cnet is broadening its horizons, in terms of the categories of products it reviews, PCWorld sticks to what it knows best – PCs and PC accessories. It includes reviews of the latest desktop and mobile computers, as well as peripherals and accessories. There’s also a section dedicated to the best deals for these same products, which makes it a useful source if you’re bargain-hunting and want to ensure you’re getting the best deals on your new PC equipment.

Gizmodo has the usual reviews, guides, and news on the latest technology topics. But, one reason I keep returning to read their latest articles is for the science section of the website. This section of the site includes the latest news and pieces on topics ranging from climate change to astronomy and health. The Earther section, on the other hand, offers nature news for nerds, too, so you can enjoy some well-rounded, informative reading.

Engadget has been around for a long time and continues to post news and reviews on the latest tech topics, trends, and products. The site mainly concentrates on tech, with products including cars and wearables, but it does have the occasional piece of gaming news. And you will find a lot of information on the latest deals, especially during the lead-up to Amazon Prime Day and Cyber Monday.

Tech Lingo is a Singapore-based tech website. The site has reviews of the latest products, as well as guides. It also has an Instagram section, showing off high-res pictures of some of the latest and best-looking pieces of kit. And the Tech Talk section offers more in-depth discussion behind the products and the technology all around us.

Ars Technica does offer consumer product reviews and guides, but it also serves a lot of technology and science pieces of interest. Topics include space, security, health, and AI technology, as well as science. The culture section includes some pieces on the latest movies and TV shows, too, giving a well-rounded experience.

Wired is another general tech review and guides website that covers most topics, but it does concentrate on the latest emerging products. And it combines this with science news as well as information on future trends and other useful information that tech lovers will surely enjoy.

Most of the sites above are general tech sites. But, if you have a specific love of certain areas of technology, you might be better served choosing a tech site that concentrates on this area. You get a deeper look into the technology behind the technology, as it were. GSM Arena is a site dedicated to cell phones and mobile technology. It includes news and topical pieces, as well as reviews and guides and GSM Arena publishes multiple pieces a day, making it a solid choice for cell phone fanatics.

Den of Geek isn’t strictly a technology site. It aims to cater to all geek needs, but it does have games and video sections, so it does cross over into the technology sector. It does concentrate primarily on gaming, and there are news stories as well as guides and other articles that will appeal to console, PC, and mobile gamers.

GameSpot is dedicated purely to gamers. Most of its content reviews and offers news on video gaming, although it has recently expanded to offer a greater variety of board game and tabletop gaming news as well. The forums are quite active and can be a great source of information as well as offering helpful player resources.

You can just listen to music through your Alexa or, worse still, through your cell phone speakers. But, if you care about the quality of the audio you’re hearing, the Stereophile website is the tech review site for you. It caters to audiophiles and includes reviews of speakers, amplifiers, digital and analog sources, and more. The site also includes occasional record reviews, so you have something good to listen to on your new audio equipment.

Alexa isn’t just an audio device, of course. It acts as a conduit to smart home technology, which is an increasingly popular topic that has the potential to make our lives easier.

Tom’s Guide includes reviews of a lot of different technology products and niches, but it is the one site I visit when I’m looking for information on smart speakers and other smart devices.

Lifehacker is a tech review site that aims to help people do things better. It does include reviews of a lot of the same products as other review sites, but it also has some general info articles that are a little bit different while still being technology adjunct, at least. You’ll find guides on how to cook full meals in air fryers and how to get the most from your AV battery, for example.

When it comes to cars and car technology, Top Gear is one of the most popular brands in the world. The show actually started as a radio show in the 1970s and was aimed at pedestrians as much as drivers. Today, it concentrates on cars and what’s inside them, and while the TV show is currently on long-term hiatus following a life-changing accident involving host Freddie Flintoff, it still has considerable online presence including popular car and car technology reviews.

The technology industry is one of the biggest industries in the world. It’s difficult to put an exact figure on the size of the market because it includes everything from cell phones, worth around half a trillion dollars a year; the home computing industry, worth another 100 billion dollars; and various other markets including emerging markets like blockchain and crypto. There are also elements of technology throughout other sectors. This makes it an interesting industry, especially for lovers of the latest gadgets, but it also makes it difficult to effectively navigate.
