The affordable TCL 30 Z is now on sale on AT&T and Cricket

TCL is making its debut on AT&T and Cricket with the budget-conscious 30 Z which sports a 6-inch HD+ display and is powered by MediaTek’s Helio A22 chipset. It also features a MicroUSB charging port which is unusual for the year we are in but perhaps acceptable considering that the TCL 30 Z is priced at just $49.99 on Cricket.

Apart from the 6.08-inch HD+ NXTVISION display and Helio A22 processor, the TCL 30 Z also packs in 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage (up to 512GB). Another anomaly, apart from the MicroUSB port, is that TCL has eschewed the fingerprint sensor in favor of relying solely on facial recognition to unlock the phone. Something else that is increasingly scarce is the inclusion of a 3,5mm audio jack, although NFC connectivity isn’t supported.

The rear camera setup consists of a single 8MP main sensor with built-in Google Lens technology, Portrait Mode and Face Beauty features, plus the ubiquitous flash. The phone also has a 5MP front-facing camera which is housed in a teardrop notch on the display. A 3,000mAh battery keeps the lights on and takes 3.7 hours to fully recharge via the included 5V1A wall charger.

As you might expect at this price point, the TCL 30 Z has a plastic construction. The TCL 30 Z will be available on AT&T and Cricket in Elegant Black and Slate Gray colorways, with Cricket listing it for sale at $49.99. AT&T hasn’t posted a price for the budget handset but it should be listed at under $100.
