While Android users are still without access to Apple’s iMessage platform thanks to it being exclusively available on iOS and MacOS devices, it seems that the Cupertino company is keen on sharing a different service to the best Android TV device around – Nvidia’s Shield TV. That’s right, the Apple TV app is now available to download and install on your Nvidia Shield TV. Finally.

It’s a given that Nvidia’s Shield TV is the best exponent of Android TV right now thanks to its sheer processing power, storage options, and the number of updates that it receives. Now it’s even better thanks to the addition of the Apple TV app to its ranks, which also gives users access to the content they’ve previously bought on iTunes. This means that if you switched to Android from an iPhone, you can watch those long-lost shows and movies that you bought.

The app supports 4K and HDR content, with Nvidia also upscaling 1080p content to 4K to make everything look better. As you might expect, the Google Assistant is also compatible with the Apple TV app which means you can bellow those voice commands to start bingeing on The Morning Show. You can download the Apple TV app to your device via the link below.

He’s been an Android fan ever since owning an HTC Hero, with the Dell Streak being his first phablet. He currently carries an OPPO Find X2 Pro in his pockets, a Galaxy Tab S5e in his backpack, and thinks nothing of lugging a 17-inch laptop around the world. When not immersed in the world of Android and gadgets, he’s an avid sports fan, and like all South Africans, he loves a good Braai (BBQ).
