While we have to wait until 2022 for the new Battlefield to come to mobile, there’s good news for mobile gamers because EA is bringing the Battlefield Mobile FPS game to Android smartphones sometime this fall via a beta program. Indeed, the Battlefield Mobile beta has already been soft-launched in Indonesia and the Philippines, with other regions to follow suit soon.
The Battlefield Mobile beta is already present on the Play Store but is only able to be downloaded by those residing in eligible locations for now. When it’s ready, EA says that users with devices running on Android 7.0 and above will see the option to pre-register for the game.
“Squad up in Battlefield Mobile. You and your crew will press the assault on maps and modes both new and familiar to veteran players. Build a loadout of authentic weapons and game-changing gadgets. Fight for control of powerful vehicles like tanks and ATVs. Destroy the field of battle with large-scale environmental destruction. Combat abilities are always growing and at scale, granting you the capacity for mass warfare.”
Developed specifically for the Android platform, Battlefield Mobile will not support cross-play with gaming consoles or PCs. It’s going to be a free-to-play title which means that there will be In-App-Purchases present although EA says that only cosmetic items will be offered, notwithstanding things like a Battle Pass and unlockables unique to the title.
Just remember that your progress in the Battlefield Mobile beta will be wiped clean at the end of the program, leaving you to start afresh when the final release is available.
