September 8th last year saw Google roll out the public release of Android 11 but this year’s timeline is slightly off-kilter with today seeing the launch of the final Android 12 beta. This latest build is known as Beta 5 and according to Google, it’s a ‘Release Candidate’ which makes it as close to ready for prime-time as it can get without being the official release. While Android Beta 5 is rolling out to eligible Pixel smartphones as we speak, we have the download links to the OTA files and Factory Images for you after the break.
Fast on the heels of rolling out the September security update to its Pixel devices, Google’s Android 12 Beta 5 is here and it’s bringing goodies such as Material You clock widgets, a faster search bar, a handy Device Controls shortcut on the lock screen, and the Paint Chips widget that uses Android 12’s theme engine to create a palette of colors based on your chosen wallpaper.
The Beta 5 update is rolling out to the Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, Pixel 4, Pixel 4a, and Pixel 5 but if you are impatient and want the new build on your phone now, we’ve also got the download links to the factory images, OTA files, and the Android Flash Tool for you below:
In case you were wondering, the Android 12 Beta 5 build is said to be available for the newly launched Pixel 5a 5G in the ‘coming weeks’.
