Samsung launched a new smartphone today, the Galaxy F15. This device isn’t about to break any performance benchmark records, as it is a budget phone targeting the Indian market. In fact, that’s the only place that the phone will be launching, so if you’re interested in getting one as someone in the United States, you’ll be out of luck.

The Specs

Besides that though, it’s got a lot of pretty impressive specs for its price point. The headlining feature has got to be its battery. The F15 comes with a massive 6,000 mAh cell inside, which is much larger than you’ll find in any of Samsung’s flagships, but that’s understandable because it makes the phone thicker and heavier.

To show what I mean, the Galaxy F15 has a plastic frame and a plastic back panel (plastic is lighter than glass and metal), but it weighs 217g, which is much heavier than the Galaxy S24+ and close to the weight of the S24 Ultra. It is also 9.3mm thick. On the front panel, you’ll find somewhat thick bezels and a teardrop notch for the selfie camera.

The screen is a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It doesn’t seem to have any kind of Corning screen protection, but for its segment, that’s unsurprising. Impressively though, you get Android 14 and One UI 6, with four years of major OS updates. It runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ with 128GB of storage and either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. You can expand its storage if you want though. Also, it comes with a 3.5mm jack, which is a rarity these days.

Regarding imaging, the main camera is a 50MP wide, there’s a 5MP ultrawide, and then a 2MP macro. The front camera is 13MP. You can record at 1080p and 30fps on both sides of the phone. To close things off, you’ll get a maximum of 25W wired charging (which will likely take a while to juice up that huge battery), a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and USB-C for charging. The phone will come in three colors: Ash Black, Groovy Violet, and Jazzy Green.

How Much Will The Galaxy F15 Cost?

The Samsung Galaxy F15 launches at a price point of about $156, which is pretty much as inexpensive as a phone can get if you want decent performance. For that price, it certainly comes with a lot. There’s a huge battery, a headphone jack, expandable storage, and a pretty decent screen.
