We all knew that the Samsung Galaxy S23 was never perfect. But it had the right updates at the time of its release, which overall led to their positive reception. So what if pitted the entire line with the newer Galaxy S24 via all of their models? How much different are they?

For the base S24 and S24, much of the significant changes go to the base Android version and chipset spec bumps, plus color variants, which is already a given gap for updated models. There are also a few technological differences here and there , such as the use of Low-temperature polycrystalline oxide for the AMOLED screens. But, as with very minute changes to weight and size, those are never really outwardly noticeable by the average user.
The change to Exynos 2400 (and Xclipse 940) for international S24 versions, and UFS 3.1 for 128GB variants should technically be a major difference. However, for most practical applications, the phone should still be as snappy as it is designed to be.

The spec bumps for the S24+ are considerably even more negligible, with the exception of specs that provide new or additional hardware, such as the additional 3GB RAM and upgrade to Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Probably the biggest appreciable and most noticeable change for the S24+ is its screen resolution. Users can enjoy the much more crisp screen detail with a higher PPI thanks to the updated QHD specs.
WiFi 7 is also on the list of major technological changes, although we believe (as it stands now) that it won’t really be a factor for standard use until much later during the phone’s lifetime.
Unlike, the base S24, there are no “downgrades” for lower-end variants for the S24+.

The most touted feature of the S24 Ultra is its titanium frame, the first implementation of which on a Samsung phone ever (S23 Ultra still uses an aluminum frame). Complementing this protection feature is the new Gorilla Glass Armor for the screen, advertised to be significantly more durable than the original Victus 2. In addition, there are also a few changes to certain variants. For instance, the 256GB version would now have 12GB RAM (effectively removing any memory changes per product).
Curiously, the telephoto lens of the S24 Ultra received a significant spec update. From 10MP to 50MP, although other aspects of it are also nerfed, like its x10 optical zoom going down to x5. Nonetheless, the update still allowed the S24 Ultra to provide sharper images than the S23 Ultra, so it was all-in-all a positive update in reducing noise at maxed zoom settings.
The rest of the other minute changes are more or less similar to the S24+, such as WiFi 7 connectivity. Oh and, a very tiny bump in screen resolution is also there, which compensates for the slight increase in physical screen size (preserved PPI).
