We’ve been hearing a lot of early reports on significant things that might change with the Galaxy Watch 7 series, but there hasn’t been too much talk about the specifications of the smartwatches. Well, until now, at least, thanks to an exclusive from SamMobile.

The Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic both came in one storage configuration: 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. However, it looks like Samsung is ready to up their game with the Galaxy Watch 7 this year, by doubling the storage for their watches this year to 32GB.

More storage is certainly a good thing, especially for those who love to install all sorts of apps on their smartwatch, have hundreds of watch faces to switch between, or maybe just like to have a bunch of music stored for offline listening. Either way, 32GB of storage is a welcome improvement.

Samsung Has A Third Galaxy Watch Model Planned For 2024

Samsung has had two models in the Galaxy Watch lineup for a long time, but they look set to add a third one — they’re also set to add a new Flip 6 and a new Fold 6 model this year, so the company is very eager to shake things up in 2024.

There’s no glimpse into what these models will be called, but if I’m to throw a guess into the ring, I’ll assume there will be a regular Galaxy Watch 7, a Galaxy Watch 7 Classic, and perhaps a power user-focused Galaxy Watch 7 Pro. I think it is unlikely that Samsung might try to undercut the price of the Watch 7 even further by introducing a budget option, but time will tell. I’m always ready to be proven wrong.

There Are Whispers Of A Pivot To Square-Shaped Galaxy Watch Displays This Year

Since the very first Samsung Galaxy Watch, we’ve been graced with only round displays with the Korean manufacturer’s smartwatches. Personally, I like round displays because they look a lot more like actual wristwatches do.

However, this year, we heard some talk that Samsung might be planning to pivot to square or rectangular displays for the Galaxy Watch 7 series — considering that there are three models this year, this might apply to just one of them, as a test run. I’m not a fan of square smartwatches, but Apple has been doing things that way for years, and some folks seem to prefer them.
