June 16th sees the launch of Honor’s first smartphone since it separated from Huawei, running on the latest Snapdragon chipset and sporting a somewhat blingy rear panel. The Honor 50 series of smartphones, which could consist of the Honor 50 Lite, Honor 50, and Honor 50 Pro, sporting features such as insanely quick 100W charging and a ‘Hypercurved’ display.
Besides being powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors, it’s also thought that the Honor 50 series could also sport a critical component – the return of Google’s Play Store, apps, and services.
From the embedded image, we can discern that there is a quartet of rear cameras, consisting of a big main sensor that gets its own surrounding, and then 3 other cameras that share the section with the flash LED. A sparkly silver finish is also present, along with black, green, and something that looks like pink gold. As you can probably tell from the picture, the Honor 50 bears a remarkable resemblance to Huawei’s as-yet-unreleased P50 series, make of that what you will.
The launch event is being held on June 16th in Shanghai which isn’t too long away but hopefully we’ll see a few more leaked details and images in the meantime.
