The keyword search function is already being tested on Threads

Threads

Having recently become available to access on the web, a new and possibly even more important feature has been confirmed to be on the way to Threads. Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg has confirmed via Threads that the X (formerly Twitter) competitor will soon gain the ability to search for keywords. And, if you happen to live in New Zealand or Austrailia, you are already living in the future because the search function is being tested there.

As one of the most-wanted features, the addition of keyword search will bring much needed functionality to the Thread’s search box. According to a statement given to TechCrunch, Meta plans to roll out keyword search to more English-speaking countries in ‘short order’ after listening to community feedback and making further improvements.

Little by little, Threads is gaining all the features that we became accustomed to on Twitter X, just a bit later than we would have liked. We’ll update the article just as soon as the keyword seach function rolls out to other regions.

He’s been an Android fan ever since owning an HTC Hero, with the Dell Streak being his first phablet. He currently carries an Honor Magic 5 Pro in his pockets, a Xiaomi Pad 5 in his backpack, and thinks nothing of lugging a 17-inch laptop around the world. When not immersed in the world of Android and gadgets, he’s an avid sports fan, and like all South Africans, he loves a good Braai (BBQ).
