If you’ve got a Moto G Pro on your hands you can look forward to the Android 11 update rolling out, which makes it the first Motorola to get the OS upgrade. As an Android One handset, it’s somewhat surprising that it’s taken five months for Motorola to update the Moto G Pro to Android 11, but then again, this is the Motorola we currently have, not the one that use to be among the first to provide new firmware.

The Android OTA comes in at 1.1GB (according to the screenshots posted by Moto G Pro users on Reddit), and brings features such as new device and media controls, Chat Bubbles, privacy settings, and more, including the January security patch.

In the US, the Moto G Pro is known as the Moto G Stylus but unlike the UK version, it isn’t enrolled on the Android One program which means it could be a while still until it gets updated to Android 11.

We’ll keep an eye out for when the Moto G Stylus eventually gets the update, in the meantime, it’s always worth heading to Settings to give the old ‘Check for Updates’ button a tap.

He’s been an Android fan ever since owning an HTC Hero, with the Dell Streak being his first phablet. He currently carries an OPPO Find X2 Pro in his pockets, a Galaxy Tab S5e in his backpack, and thinks nothing of lugging a 17-inch laptop around the world. When not immersed in the world of Android and gadgets, he’s an avid sports fan, and like all South Africans, he loves a good Braai (BBQ).
