In a world where tech is just trying to conform to a design standard, it’s nice to see a company like Nothing come in to shake things up with their exciting designs. The Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a) are two new entries to their lineup which promise great audio quality and an eye-catching design.

Oh boy, if you liked the design of the Nothing Ear (2) or the Nothing Ear (1), you’re going to love the basically-named Nothing Ear. These new earbuds retain the same design, which to be honest, doesn’t need to change if you like AirPod-style earbuds with the stalk, but they promise the best audio under the Nothing brand.

The Nothing Ear produces its sound with an 11 mm dynamic driver and a ceramic diaphragm, which Nothing says will give you much better audio quality, with better bass and crisper high-end notes. They’ve also improved the Active Noise Cancelation in the earbuds, with up to 45dB of noise reduction, which is almost double what its predecessor could do. The mic has also been upgraded, and Nothing says airflow through the earbuds is better, which supposedly improves voice quality on calls and reduces distortion during listening.

The battery life has also gotten a boost, with a total of 40.5 hours of time for you to enjoy your music when paired with the charging case. The buds themselves aren’t shabby though, and can do 8.5 hours of listening on their own. Plus, it’s got wireless charging and fast charging tech that can give you 10 hours worth of playback on a 10-minute charge.

It will cost $149 and will come in black and white colorways.

Now, Nothing Ear (a) is a little different. Just looking at it, you’ll see a different case design and a slightly different earbud design, but it still screams Nothing nonetheless. Nothing has always been a very monochrome company, but the Ear (a) will also be available in yellow, which is a first, but doesn’t look as wacky as you might assume.

Now, you also get an 11 mm dynamic driver with this, though it doesn’t come with the ceramic diaphragm that the higher-priced model gets. This is meant to be the more basic option after all. You do still get the high-end Active Noise Cancelation with 45dB of noise reduction, so that’s a perk. There’s also an improvement in airflow through the Ear (a) for better sound clarity.

In total, you get even more battery life, at 42.5 hours, which is the best for any earbuds in Nothing’s portfolio. The buds themselves get 9.5 hours on a single charge though. With just $99, you’ll be able to get these pretty expensive-looking buds, and I bet these will sell a lot better than the higher-end model.

You can pre-order either set of earbuds starting today, but orders will start shipping on April 22nd.
